On December 18, the new product launch ceremony of Taizhou Honeycomb Aerospace Intelligent Equipment Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "Honeycomb Aerospace")—titled "Intelligent Aerospace, Soaring Over Taizhou"—was held in Taizhou Bay New Area, Taizhou. The SU-51, the first unit of fixed-wing VTOL intelligent unmanned airport with automatic battery replacement independently developed by Honeycomb Aerospace in Zhejiang Province, made its official debut and rolled off the production line. Meanwhile, multiple joint laboratories and cooperation projects were inaugurated simultaneously, marking a key step for Honeycomb Aerospace in core unmanned system equipment, intelligent operation platforms, and industry-academia-research collaborative innovation.

A group of heavyweight experts and leaders from the aerospace, civil aviation administration, low-altitude economy, and scientific research sectors gathered at the event venue. Shen Liping, Academician of the International Academy of Astronautics and former Deputy Chief Designer of China's Manned Space Program; Zhang Yiming, Academician of the Russian Academy of Natural Sciences, Professor of Zhejiang Sci-Tech University, and Dean of Jinyun Research Institute of Zhejiang Sci-Tech University; Jin Bing, former Deputy Director and First-Class Inspector of the Department of Policies and Regulations of the State Post Bureau; He Minghan, former Deputy Director and First-Class Inspector of the North China Regional Administration of Civil Aviation; and Guo Bozhi, Chief Technical Expert of Low-Altitude Economy of the Chinese Society of Aeronautics and Astronautics, attended the ceremony, among others. Leaders from the Administrative Committee of Taizhou Bay New Area and relevant municipal state-owned platforms, together with representatives from scientific research institutions, industrial partners, and investment institutions based in Beijing, Shanghai, Chengdu, and other places, witnessed this important moment.

Li Wei, Chairman of Honeycomb Aerospace, delivered a speech

Li Wei, Chairman of Honeycomb Aerospace, introduced progress in advancing the low-altitude economy in Taizhou Bay New Area in his speech. He stated that the favorable industrial policy environment and clear strategic positioning of Taizhou Bay New Area are highly aligned with the development direction of building a drone industry ecosystem. Local presence in Taizhou Bay New Area is a key initiative to deepen regional layout and integrate into the high-quality development of the local area.

Chairman Speech on Development Plans

Li Wei, Chairman of Honeycomb Aerospace, stated that since the project signed the agreement and settled down last December, its construction has progressed steadily. Relying on the aerospace industry system of Taizhou Bay New Area, Honeycomb Aerospace will invest approximately 500 million yuan to build an intelligent production base with an annual output of 500 sets of medium-and-large-sized UAVs and intelligent unmanned airports. The company will continue to iterate and upgrade its two core products—fixed-wing VTOL UAVs and intelligent unmanned airports—promoting the transformation of unmanned operation systems from usable to user-friendly, reliable and scalable for deployment. It will focus on serving the construction of new low-altitude infrastructure, coastal and border defense characteristic projects, and industry-level unmanned applications. After the project reaches its designed production capacity, it is expected to generate an annual output value of around 450 million yuan.

Laboratory Unveilling Ceremony

During the ceremony, two laboratories were officially unveiled: the joint laboratory co-founded by Beihang Tianmushan Laboratory and Honeycomb Aerospace, as well as the Laboratory for Advanced Materials and Equipment of Large-scale UAVs co-established by Zhejiang Sci-Tech University and Honeycomb Aerospace. The relevant cooperation will focus on tackling key technical problems, transforming scientific and technological achievements, and cultivating talents, so as to further consolidate the foundation of the enterprise's technological innovation.

Launch of the SU-51 Intelligent Unmanned Airport

At the event venue, Liu Tiejun, Deputy General Manager of Honeycomb Aerospace, launched the SU-51 Intelligent Unmanned Airport. It is an all-autonomous UAV operation system integrating an "intelligent cabin + VTOL UAV + management platform", specially designed for long-distance, large-scale, efficient, continuous and unmanned scenario operations. It provides more convenient, intelligent and cost-effective solutions for inspection application scenarios such as highways, agriculture and forestry environmental protection, oil pipelines, and coastal and border defense.

Launch of the Fengxing UAV Operation and Management Platform

Guan Hongwei, Deputy General Manager of Honeycomb Aerospace, launched the Fengxing UAV Operation and Management Platform. Integrated with an AI-enabled architecture, the Fengxing Platform is a UAV-as-a-Service (UaaS) solution. With data aggregation, security protection, and intelligent engine as its three core pillars, it builds new digital infrastructure for low-altitude services.

Speech by Academician

Shen Liping, Academician of the International Academy of Astronautics and former Deputy Chief Designer of China's Manned Spaceflight Program, pointed out that enterprises are important carriers for the transformation of scientific and technological achievements and engineering applications. He also sent his wishes to Honeycomb Aerospace, hoping that the company could rely on the sound industrial environment of Taizhou Bay New Area, take innovation as the guide, and set a demonstration example in industry-university-research collaborative innovation, tackling key technical problems and scenario-based applications.

Jin Bing, former Deputy Director-General and Level-1 Inspector of the Department of Policies and Regulations of the State Post Bureau, and He Minghan, former Deputy Director-General and Level-1 Inspector of the Civil Aviation Administration of China North China Regional Administration, pointed out at the meeting that the low-altitude economy is moving from the pilot exploration stage to a phase of standardized and large-scale development, which puts forward higher requirements for safety supervision, operational rules and the coordination of application scenarios. The continuous exploration of Honeycomb Aerospace in the engineering application and standardized operation of unmanned systems will help promote the high-quality development of the low-altitude industry within a compliant and safe framework.

Congratulatory Speeches by Guests

A number of leaders and guests from relevant fields stated in their speeches that Honeycomb Aerospace has long been deeply engaged in the field of industrial-grade UAVs and unmanned systems, and has forged prominent technical advantages in system R&D, intelligent manufacturing and adaptation to complex application scenarios. The completion and commissioning of the Taizhou Base will further connect the entire "R&D, manufacturing and application" chain, providing strong support for the in-depth integration of industry, academia and research as well as technological innovation in the sector. They expressed their expectation that Honeycomb Aerospace will "rise with the wind like a roc one day and soar ninety thousand miles upwards" — a line from an ancient Chinese poem. With the guidance and support of leaders at all levels of Taizhou Bay New Area, the company will achieve take-off and make important contributions to the development of Taizhou's low-altitude economy.

Signing Ceremony

The Zhejiang Academy of Forestry Sciences, Xindun Spatiotemporal Intelligence Innovation Institute, Hangzhou Bingzhi Technology Co., Ltd., and Duodian Digital Intelligence Co., Ltd. held a project signing ceremony with Honeycomb Aerospace. The cooperation covers multiple fields including industrial coordination, technological R&D and application promotion. Based on the robust industrial foundation of Taizhou Bay New Area, these partnerships will speed up project delivery and technology commercialization, fostering a dynamic ecosystem that drives synergy through shared strengths and aligned growth.
