Recently, the Beijing Municipal Commission of Science and Technology and the Administrative Committee of Zhongguancun Science Park announced the 2024 and 2025 lists of approved Beijing Key Laboratories. The Beijing Key Laboratory of Traffic Communication Intelligent Sensing and Resilient Motion Control Technology, jointly built by Traffic Control Technology Co., Ltd., Beijing Jiaotong University and Honeycomb Aerospace, has been officially approved.

The laboratory aims to become a leader in technological innovation for the low-altitude economy and rail transit sectors. It closely aligns with major national strategic needs, integrates the advanced scientific research resources of the three co-constructing parties, and focuses on tackling key technical issues such as UAV adaptability, safe and efficient airspace operation, and integrated "low-altitude+" applications. The laboratory will conduct in-depth research on key technologies such as highly adaptable high-speed aircraft, digital dynamic airspace management and conflict detection and avoidance, as well as artificial intelligence and multi-source sensing fusion. It is committed to developing a new generation of highly adaptable industrial UAVs and building the China's first airspace management system that meets Software Integrity Level AL3, so as to systematically improve the safety and operational efficiency of low-altitude activities and promote the coordinated development of the low-altitude industrial chain. By deeply integrating the common technical requirements and data resources of the rail transit and low-altitude transportation systems, the laboratory will establish a common technology and data platform, forming a demonstration system for the safe operation and application of the low-altitude economy that can be replicable and promotable in multiple scenarios.
